Experts contend a splendid light and what sounded like rumble in a sky opposite a Midwest was a meteor.
The American Meteor Society says it perceived hundreds of reports of a fireball Tuesday night over Michigan, including many in a Detroit area. Reports also came in from Illinois and several other states and Ontario, Canada.
Some Michigan residents reported their homes shaking.
The multitude says a reports advise a space stone penetrated low into a Earth’s atmosphere before it pennyless apart. The U.S. Geological Service says it purebred as a 2.0 bulk trembler in Michigan.
Bill Cooke with NASA’s Meteoroid Environment Office tells The Detroit News it was “definitely a meteoroid” and a singular steer for Michigan.
Other states where people reported saying a fireball enclosed Illinois, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana and Missouri.
